What is LED?LED stands for Light Emitting Diode which is essentially a semiconductor device that emits visible light when electrical current passes through it. Diodes only let electric current run in one direction but LED produces photons of light when this occurs.
In this way, light is produced in a highly efficient manner since it does not depend on a filament or any other device to convert electricity into light.
